Make your expat project in Senegal successful

Wishing to live in Senegal? Located in Western Africa, the country is renowned for its hospitality: no wonder then that "Teranga", the Wolof world for hospitality, is a real motto. Expatriates settling here to live and work will have to master French to enjoy their expat experience to the fullest. They will discover a multiethnic nation with a modern culture shaped by traditional heritage.

Hi! I'm Kim, a French-American living, working, traveling, and musing in West Africa (Dakar, Senegal, to be exact). I've lived here for close to three years. I blog about the intersection between Africa, design, and culture... and the expat life of course!

For the 2012-2014 school years, Kristine has accepted a position at the International School of Dakar in Senegal (West Africa) and is very excited to continue her work in curriculum with teachers at ISD, a dynamic learning community that serves the Dakar-based expat population with an ‘American’ type education in English. Her two children will have the opportunity to attend the school as well and the whole family is looking forward to new challenges. Kristine has been in education since 1993. She taught fourth grade in Ohio from 1993 – 2008. She accepted a new position as a Curriculum Coordinator for her district for the school year 2008-2009. It’s been a great ride ever since. When asked if being a Curriculum Coordinator is an easier job than teaching, she is known to answer, “It’s just a different kind of crazy.”
