Permesso di Soggiorno - message for pick up not received

I know nothing about this, but I suspect your request may have been lost or not processed. I would definitely go back and check with them to find out the status. Something sounds suspicious.

I have the same problem here, I'm waiting for message to pick up my permesso soggiorno from 12 February but nothing until now.
I try to check up in the website but it says in progress and then it says it's not valid. It's confusing.
Should we go direct to questura and asked?

I know exactly ehat is going on , because i had to wait like 4 months for my permesso and my finance had to wat 7 months. The immigration office in all of italy is overloaded with work because they just legalised like 500000 people , and its a lot of work to be done. Be patient , they will send you the message.

Thanks a lot guys, I will go tomorrow to check with the questura and hopefully they will tell me if that is the problem. I'll keep you posted if you are interested about what happens.

Anastasia, if you want you can travel to your country with the ricevuta if you have a direct flight. If you don't have a flight you can't pass through schengen countries because for them, the ricevuta alone is not a valid ID.

Yeah you should update after you go to questura so we all know about what happens in the process.

I guess for good reason, better to wait my permesso soggiorno to finish then travel outside. I don't want to register again and wait again.

Saw new Covid restrictions coming so I gave up and left Italy without mine. I have no idea how I'll get back in LOL.

I went there and they basically said wait for another 10 days and come back afterwards if you don't receive an sms.

Hi there, I'm in the same situation you were in a couple of months ago (the permesso di soggiorno of my wife suddenly disappeared from the questura website). After your questura told you to wait 10 days, how long did it actually take you to receive your permesso di soggiorno?

same thing happened to me as the original poster for my renewal. unlike for my initial  permesso di soggiorno, this time i had to enter the details of the username and password provided on the holographic receipt to view the status of my document. also for anyone wondering, if you wish to leave the country and must pass through the schengen area, you must request a permesso di soggiorno provvisorio while your document is pending from the Questura BUT only if it is NOT your first permesso di soggiorno.

This is where you can check the status. I found this after months of waiting. 6 months and still no progress. Still waiting...

Well I applied for mine in November last year. 2021 Only got an appointment on 23 may 2022 and after a lot of back and forth I finally got the message that my Permesso is ready today. I worked through the CISL. Every time I couldn't track mine online I had to go back and find what is wrong, happened 4 times and every time it was either a document they couldn't read or asking me for stuff I already sent them. It's really frustrating but as soon as you can not track it online go in and ask them because it means they need something or something is wrong. It's almost a year since I started the process so don't be surprised if it takes 9 to 11 months.

@Carel L Did you try tracking it through the immigration portal using the username and password on the holographic receipt? Just asking because I am also still waiting on mine and couldn't check through usual means but could using the portal. Mine says it's a no fault document and I received my first permesso without problem so I don't understand the delay on the renewal. I've moved cities since and now I'm nervous that something is wrong/missing even though the website says everything is fine.

i applied for my first permesso in February and i am still waiting no feedback, if we need to check with the questura do we need appointment or just go and ask? what did you do? and who did you ask?

My wife and I experienced the same thing when we applied for our first Permesso. For the first few months after our visit to the questura I could do a status check. Then all of a sudden I couldn't and recieve the same blank screen you described. Thinking that something was wrong I went back to the questura and found out that they needed something else from us. It wasn't serious and we fixed the problem in short order.

That being said it might be time for you to visit them in person to do a status check.

we filed our application mid june, had the QUESTURA appointment mid aug, and have been waiting ever since, our question is... will the PERMESSO, when finally issued, be valid from the june date of submission, the august appt date or the date it is FINALLY issued.

@JTWEED It will be valid from the date issued, give or take a month.

@Bonnie Voyage Hi Bonnie. Yes I did, the portal changes status twice. first it updates you on your date and time to do your finger prints etc and then it updates again with the time and date to pick up the permesso. The status never changes on it. Even after receiving my Permesso it still says "under investigation" so apart for reminding you about dates to go to the questura it is a pretty useless form of tracking.

@carel do you take an appointment to go to the questura or just you show up there?

maybe one of you have come across this.. My tracking recently updated to "ready" with something like please await a text before coming to pick it up. My wife is in Kent so I am staying with her (she is 8.5 months pregnant so can't really do an expensive trip just for giggles, done this before too many time)

Should I give it a couple of days or arrange a flight?

I have Carta D'identita and the receipt, my first such application I never thought I'd have to make (thanks to Brexit)

Hi all can anybody tell when we check the status of soggiorno what is the difference between document in question and document under discussion.

Also once police verification is done how much time it takes for soggiorno to get ready.
